Edward: Could you please share your background and how you initially entered the iGaming industry?

My journey into the iGaming industry was quite serendipitous. Four years ago, I transitioned from a background in sports, where I had been deeply involved in coaching. It was during this time of transition that one of my closest friends extended an invitation to explore opportunities within the iGaming sector, suggesting that my skill set might be well-suited to the industry.

In a somewhat unexpected turn of events, that day marked the end of my coaching career and the beginning of my foray into the world of online gambling. Despite the initial uncertainty, I decided to take the leap and try my luck in this new domain.

As time went on, I found myself increasingly drawn to the dynamics and challenges of the iGaming industry. What began as a leap of faith has evolved into a fulfilling role and career path. Today, I find myself fully immersed in my job within the gambling sector, while coaching has taken a back seat and become more of a hobby.

Reflecting on this journey, I realize that sometimes the most unexpected detours lead to the most rewarding destinations. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have stumbled upon this industry and to have found genuine enjoyment and fulfillment in my current role.

Edward: Reflecting on your journey from your entry into the industry to where we are today, what are the most significant concerns you have regarding the iGaming sector?

One of my deepest concerns within the iGaming sector revolves around the alarming prevalence of fake casinos and deceptive brands worldwide. It’s incredibly frustrating to witness how some individuals and entities are solely driven by the desire to exploit unsuspecting customers for their own financial gain. This predatory behavior not only harms the players but also casts a shadow of doubt over the entire industry.

What truly troubles me is the impact this deceitful conduct has on trust. Trust is the bedrock of any relationship, and in the world of online gambling, it’s absolutely crucial. When players can’t trust the platforms they’re engaging with, it creates a pervasive sense of skepticism and wariness. This lack of trust not only damages the reputation of legitimate operators but also makes it incredibly difficult for players to feel confident in choosing a reputable brand.

I strongly believe that this erosion of trust is the biggest obstacle we face in the iGaming industry today. Without trust, we lose the foundation upon which meaningful relationships between operators and players are built. It’s imperative that we work tirelessly to combat this issue, implementing robust measures to identify and eliminate fraudulent operators. By doing so, we can begin to rebuild trust and foster a more transparent, secure, and ultimately, more humanized iGaming environment.

Edward: What are some of the biggest challenges you face as an iGaming Affiliate Manager? In your opinion, what are some effective strategies or tools that could help overcome these challenges? For example, how do you distinguish legitimate affiliates from the fraudulent ones?

One of the biggest challenges I face as an iGaming Affiliate Manager is nurturing a brand from scratch and navigating its growth in a competitive market. It’s a journey that requires dedication and a driven team.

When it comes to partnering with affiliates, distinguishing the genuine ones from the fraudulent requires thorough research and attention to detail. We dive deep into their websites and background to ensure they align with our values.

While I can’t reveal our specific strategies, having a trustworthy and competitive team is our greatest asset. Their dedication and willingness to push boundaries are key to overcoming challenges and driving success.

Edward: When evaluating potential affiliates, what is your perspective on verifying an affiliate’s past performance? Do you rely on screenshots they provide, or do you have other methods of assessment in place?

When evaluating potential affiliates, we conduct thorough research to verify their past performance and credibility. This involves reaching out to related sites or sources that can corroborate the information provided by the affiliate. While we understand that not everything can be fully validated, we place a significant emphasis on reputation. A positive reputation speaks volumes and helps assure us that the affiliate is not engaged in fraudulent activities.

While screenshots can sometimes suffice, we prefer to have live discussions whenever possible. This allows for more in-depth conversations where we can gauge the affiliate’s expertise, professionalism, and alignment with our brand values. Ultimately, combining various methods of assessment helps us make informed decisions and build strong, trustworthy partnerships.

Edward:  It appears that many affiliates are now requesting listing fees and high CPA’s, which seem to have become an industry standard. Do you find it difficult to determine who can justify the fees they charge and who overpromises and under delivers?

In today’s landscape, the escalating prices for affiliate services often seem disconnected from the actual value provided. Many affiliates demand high fees and CPA rates, which have unfortunately become somewhat of an industry standard. It’s challenging to ascertain which affiliates can genuinely deliver on their promises and which ones may overpromise and underdeliver.

Negotiating these fees has become a crucial skill in the industry. Operators often find themselves in a difficult position, facing pressure to meet these demands to maintain partnerships. In such circumstances, negotiation skills become invaluable. Everything in this industry is up for negotiation, and the ability to engage in live discussions can be a potent weapon. It’s through these conversations that both parties can work towards a mutually beneficial agreement that aligns with realistic expectations and delivers genuine value.
